Our friend “The Mummy” (from the 1932 film) was a strange threat. He’d been wrapped up for 3,000 years and didn’t have much mobility, so why did his victims have such a hard time avoiding him? That’s the subject of this song, “Mummy Drag”. Tito loves the Mummy, but has to admit that the guy was pretty slow.
Mummy drag mummy mummy drag, mummy drag
I can’t imagine getting wrapped up while alive and place inside a box
And have to wait for a tana leaf brew for a new life to unlock
He’s got some rags hangin off him must be 3000 years old
If he hasn’t been to a laundramat
I can’t image what that would do to my nose
He walks the streets - you’d think some one would just tie him up
or tap him on the shoulder, then run away - hey hey
Yeah he’s slow, slower than me, tryin to read some hyroglifics
Yeah he’s slow very very slow but I still think he’s terrific
Yeah mummy drag Mummy drag mummy mummy drag, mummy drag
Im-Mo-Tep - mummy drag, mummy mummy mummy, Im-Mo-Tep
