The collection opens its castle doors with “The Tale of Frankenstein” - a fitting and timely tribute to the world’s most popular horror monster who was created 200 years ago (the bicentennial) by Mary Shelley in her novel “Frankenstein,” subtitled The Modern Prometheus. Tito’s song makes reference to at least three films on the subject - “Frankenstein” (1931), “The Bride of Frankenstein” (1935) and “Young Frankenstein” (1974).
lyrics
When I say Frankenstein You know who I mean
A couple of bolts in the neck big scars in between
Broad shoulders and hugh feet - but he’s child hearted
Shove some fire in his face - and he will get started... it’s alive
Frankie could be friendly - picture him by a lake
Sitting with a little girl - they seem to be doing great
One by one the flowers fly - ’til there’s nothin’ left
Except the little girl - she’s going to get wet... it’s alive
His creator never gave him a name
What he gave him was an abbey normal brain
Coulda named him Tony or Tom - might have turned out fine
But with out a name - kinda screwed his mind
At a cottage in the woods Frankie finds a friend
Luckily the guy is blind and plays a violin
All is fun they puffs cigars - the mob tracks him down
Fire good - fire bad - the cottage gets burned down... it’s alive
When I say Frankenstein You know who I mean
A couple of bolts in the neck big scars in between
I always felt bad for him pleasent as he could be
no one understood him crowd mentality... it’s alive
